Dr Shilpa Patwardhan has been working in the field of mental health since 2003. She completed her MBBS and has received postgraduate degree in Psychiatry (M.D. in Psychiatry.) She has also received trainings and completed certifications Sexual Health Program as well as evidence based therapeutic approaches namely Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
Dr Shilpa has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist & Sexologist for a number of years in India & gained extensive experience in treatment & psychosocial rehabilitation of psychiatric patients in Pune, India.
She also worked as an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College and B J Medical College, Pune. She has also conducted trainings on mental and sexual health for counselors, psychologists & social workers.
In Hong Kong, Dr Shilpa has had worked as a mental health counselor for 10+ years. She has worked with ethnic minority population in Hong Kong including Refugees and Non-Refoulment Claimants having various vulnerabilities. Alongside, She also worked as a Sexual Health Counselor.
Dr Shilpa has been providing online counseling mainly to the Indian population based all over the globe. Dr Shilpa uses a range of psychotherapeutic approaches as per the client needs.
She Possesses an extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of mental health issues including psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse - addictions, psychological issues associated with stressful life events, relationship issues, occupational stress, variety of sexual problems and marital issues.
Given her experience in dealing with clients from diverse cultures and ethnicities, she remain flexible, approachable and equally sensitive to the client needs.
